Ambien claps back at Roseanne claim that sleep aid makes you racist with shadiest tweet ever
Yesterday Roseanne Barr showed Hollywood how to lose a hit show in record time and today she tried to defend herself by blaming her racist tweets on Ambien.
But the drug manufacturer behind the sleep aid wasn’t having it. Sanofi US posted a response:
People of all races, religions and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world. While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.

And even Dictionary.com got in on the shade.
The Dictionary is shady and I am so here for it. https://t.co/LEHn9wsjuj

All the drama started yesterday when the ardent Trump supporter and star of ABC’s Roseanne fired off a racist tweet suggesting that former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett is an ape, reported BuzzFeed.
“muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” Barr tweeted in response to a post about Jarrett.
Barr took to Twitter to apologize for the racist slur saying, “I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.” She says she plans to now leave Twitter (one can only hope for good), saying:
“It’s a joke,” she wrote in response to a CNN reporter.
Well, apparently ABC didn’t find her joke funny and swiftly pulled the plug on the hit series.
“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement.
And then things then went from bad to worse, when Roseanne Barr was dropped by her talent agency ICM and the networks carrying reruns of Connor family show were also removed from TV schedules.
So, who’s laughing now, Rosie?
