Parents charged for putting their baby’s body in suitcase and throwing it away
Investigators say a California couple that claimed their child was missing, actually committed murder.
According to KTLA, Adam Manson and Kiana Williams were doing drugs when they discovered their son, Jacsun had died. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office says that instead of calling police, the parents instead chose to put the infant’s body in a suitcase and then discard it in a trash bin.
Even though the 6-month-old’s remains have yet to be found, Manson and Williams have each been charged with child abuse while authorities continue searching the Corona landfill where they believe he probably ended up.

The pair was doing drugs at a motel in South Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve when the incident took place, and the cause of the death remains unclear.
California parents put their baby's body in a suitcase and threw it in a dumpster. After doing drugs, Adam Manson and Kiana Williams found their son Jacsun dead. What a heartbreakingly sad story. #mcj1022/27 https://t.co/w8ItdfzGHl #FoxNews

The San Diego Tribune reports that the parents were arrested Jan. 3 on suspicion of vehicle theft, and Jacsun was not with them. But a witness has come forward to say they saw the baby still alive inside a blue 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser on Dec. 31. At the time his parents were trying to break into cars in the neighborhood. Detectives say the Chrysler itself was stolen, and the vehicle was later found on February 8th.
Authorities didn’t begin looking for the child till Jan. 25 after he was reported missing by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
Manson is believed to have discarded the suitcase containing the boys body in a Dumpster near the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Mall. Manson’s sister says although she was estranged from her troubled sibling “because of his lifestyle,” the last time they had contact, he slipped up and spoke of his son in the past tense, as if he were dead.
If convicted the couple faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in state prison. They are scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.
