Michelle Obama on running for president and why she cried for 30 minutes when she left White House

Michelle Obama is still on her hit book tour dropping jewels and setting the record straight that she doesn’t intend to run for President because she’s committed to helping the next generation get a seat at the table.

Michelle Obama dropped gems about the reality of her #relationshipgoals marriage and the pressure of “operating in perfection” at the White House

“Nope, nope, nope,” our Forever First Lady said in response to a question from an audience member while speaking to a sell-out crowd in Austin, TX, KXAN reports.

“It’s not us occupying the same seats, it’s making room,” she said. Her goal, she said is to help her husband cultivate the “next generation of leaders” by empowering them.

Obama is still touring the US promoting her memoir, ‘Becoming’ which sold 1.4 million copies in its first week and topped the bestseller’s list in 2018. The event was hosted by celebrity chef Rachael Ray.

Obama talked about life after the White House and the painstaking moment she boarded Air Force One after the inauguration of Donald Trump in 2017.

“I sobbed for like 30 minutes,” she recalled. “That day was hard for so many reasons. Getting on that plane, I was finally able to release how hard that journey was.”

Obama said she wrote her book in an effort to inspire others to be better.

“There’s context to everyone’s pain and hurt, you just can’t say they’re good or bad,” she reflected. “Be open to their story and tolerant of their context.”

She also encouraged attendees to be the best version of themselves.

“Our job is not to let other people make us strangers to one another,” she said.
