The official Verzuz Twitter account tweeted, “THE CULTURE WINS.”
Monday night’s battle pulled in over 1.2 million views on Instagram alone. Yesterday, Verzuz tweeted that “more than 6 MILLION viewers tuned in across Instagram and Apple Music to watch @4everBrandy and @MonicaDenise celebrate each other ✨ They broke all #VERZUZ records and more.”

The Twitter account noted that the battle had 1,243,000+ viewers watching concurrently and 4,200,000+ viewers in total, with over 100,000,000 in-stream likes.
The popular song-against-song session, which emerged from the quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic, also added over 700,000 new followers to Verzuz’s Instagram page.
Significantly, Verzuz raised $250,000 for When We All Vote, a non-profit, nonpartisan organization launched in 2018 by former first lady Michelle Obama, actors Tom Hanks and Lin-Manuel Miranda, NBA star Chris Paul and singers Janelle Monae, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. More than 35,000 people clicked to sign up to vote.

The battle was kicked off by an appearance by Sen. Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for vice president.
“You both used your voices in such a powerful way,” Harris said to Brandy and Monica, “and an extension of our voices is our vote, right?”
The Verzuz Effect was described by Billboard magazine as the bump in streaming and music sales for the artists who participate in the now-phenomenal online music match-ups. Timbaland has called Verzuz a “museum” where the greatness of Black music can be showcased.
In a video clip on Twitter, Verzuz founders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland were moved to tears by the “powerful” and “healing” event.
“To see two queens come together, who had a very long history of not agreeing with each other, come in unity and love and show this generation that unity is power,” Beats said, and Timbaland called the it “a healing session” where the “spirit took over.”
